Marketing Coordinator (for Pacific View Mall and La Cumbre Plaza)

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible to assist the Sr. Marketing Manager and General Manager with the day-to-day duties to achieve the marketing strategies outlined for the property targeting key audiences: Retailers, shoppers, community, media, investors, and property team. These include, but are not limited to: Executing promotions, programming and event planning, budget management, tenant relations and support, leasing support, sponsorship and media sales support, trafficking advertising, tourism, media, and community relations.


The Marketing Coordinator will work with the Sr. Marketing Manager to implement all corporate and local marketing initiatives with the goal of driving traffic and sales to the property and tenants. This individual will be responsible for the successful execution and upkeep of digital marketing platforms (i.e. websites, email blasts, digital displays, social media, reputation monitoring, and more) as well as administrative tasks and reporting functions for all marketing and business development efforts.


A successful candidate will be well-organized and ambitious with a strong work ethic and the ability to prioritize requests, meeting multiple deadlines while still maintaining top-quality work for other on-going responsibilities. They will be responsible for engaging with customers as well as internal and external stakeholders and will be expected to maintain a professional, helpful attitude.
Essential Job Functions:
Marketing
• Partner with Property Team to consistently enhance the shopping experience for guests.
• Establish and maintain positive alliances with tenants to understand their business and tailor marketing support to maximize sales productivity and success.
• Establish strong relationships with local non-profit organizations that help fulfill company and property community goals including a robust programming calendar.
• Establish and foster relationships with local media that positively impact perceptions of the property.
• Maximize all marketing programs, events, promotions and advertising and ensure that programs reflect the Macerich standard of quality and the marketing departments key pillars (prudent fiscal management, community, income generation and sustainability).
• Maintain the malls’ calendar of retailer and property events and activations.
• Maintain and update all website content including: property maps, mall hours, contact information, tenant listings, event and sales postings, seasonal campaigns and more.
• Create, review and publish email blasts, for consumer and tenant audiences.
• Drive social media engagement, planning monthly content, scheduling posts across platforms and routinely engaging with and responding to followers’ outreach.
• Update digital directory and display content weekly or as needed, ensuring all posted content is timely and relevant and confirming all media screens are functioning properly.
• Effectively communicate Marketing programs through approved collateral vehicles, adopting brand standards for all on-mall applications.
• Evaluate effectiveness and value of media (traditional and non-traditional) used to deliver advertising and sales promotion messages, adapting appropriately.
• Show fiscal responsibility in planning and executing all marketing efforts, and in any use of Macerich and investors' funds.
• Build into all marketing programs measurable objectives that evaluate return on investment and bottom-line profitability to stakeholders.
• Support and enhance company-wide corporate responsibility initiatives at the property level.
• Monitor, measure and report property status to the AVP, Marketing.
• Prepare for and actively participate in team property visits with senior executives.

Business Development
• Assist with the creation of marketing materials to support our sales team in addition to compiling and sharing the results of various property initiatives.
• Assist in the implementation and activation of Business Development events, media, partnerships, and sponsorships event logistics, proof of posting documentation and creating recaps.
• Partner with Business Development to ensure Business Development income projections per the quarterly forecast process are being met.
• Keep abreast of competitive Business Development trends in the industry/region.
• Assist in garnering leads for ancillary media sales targeting tenants and local businesses.
• All other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Minimum of 2 to 5 years in retail, marketing and/or shopping center experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of business development, marketing and merchandising techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and sales skills.
• Flexibility in the work schedule, as needed.
